DOES YOUR MEDICAL AID PAY PRIVATE RATES IN HOSPITAL?

DO SOME BENEFITS HAVE LOW EXTREMELY LIMITS?

Are you sure?

In-Hospital Top Up

Most medical aids have reduced the in-hospital and specialist practitioner benefit rates to 200% of medical aid rates.
But, these private providers can charge what they want! Some charge more than 500% of medical aid rates!
Generally, actual hospital costs like ward, theatre and medicines are charged at a lower than private rate.

This means your private hospital bill can be significantly SHORTPAID when your scheme pays medical aid rates!

What can you do?

  • GAP CARE provides cover for in-hospital associated services rendered by a medical practitioner who charges above the medical aid rate - subject to a maximum of 500% of medical aid rates.

  • Chemo- and radio therapy for treatment of cancer and kidney dialysis as an outpatient are covered.

  • Certain traditional hospital procedures performed in doctors room (eg scopes) also covered.
Costs?

If your medical aid pays in-hospital and specialist practitioners at:

  • 200% of medical aid rates = R 100 pm for all members

  • 100% of medical aid rates = R 110 pm for all members.

(Benefits exclude ward fees, theatre fees, medicines and other hospital expenses as these are generally paid in full by medical aids).

And you will get FREE:

  • A cash payout of R10 000 to the surviving dependants in the event of the accidental death of the main member, spouse or children.
  • A cash payout of up to R10 000 per person per annum to cover for in-hospital expenses in event of accidental injury to main member, spouse or children.

(For an additional R 35 pm you can boost these limits to R 50,000 and for an additional R 50 pm you can boost these limits to R 100,000)

With this Top Up policy YOU will ever fear the pressure of financial shortfalls in the unfortunate event of hospitalisation.
